Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects a person’s ability to concentrate on given activities or tasks, sit still, learn and get organised. Adults with ADHD may be very impulsive, doing things without thinking first, and may have difficulties maintaining relationships or job. They may also change mood quite rapidly and often struggle to control their frustration and anger. Our Adult ADHD assessment provides a chance to understand your needs to help you get the support you need and lead an ADHD-positive life. We will be able to advise you on strategies and interventions that will help you function better in the day-to-day life or at work.
You will be assessed by a registered clinical psychologist who is highly experienced in providing ADHD assessments for adults. Our small team of accredited assessors are all NICE compliant and adhere to a strict code of conduct, providing complete confidentiality and professionalism.
Our assessments can be conducted from the comfort and feeling of safety of your own home and face to face within our Clinic in Bristol. We are experienced in remote assessments to ensure we get the key information and are able to accurately assess you.
We will prioritise your assessment and commit to turnaround your detailed assessment report within 3 weeks of your last appointment. We will arrange to then present this back to you and provide any recommendations and next steps to support you.
Each assessment is made of a few steps. When you first book your appointments or register with us, you will be sent a set of questionnaires to complete before your first appointment. We will want to know some background information about you, such as if you have any medical conditions, your family background and some details about the difficulties you are experiencing. You will be asked to give us the contact details of anyone who knows you really well so that we can obtain additional information from them.
You will then have a detailed assessment session based on your chosen engagement method. Our Clinician will then examine the information that we have gathered, look at your questionnaires, and reach a diagnostic conclusion (whether you meet the criteria for ADHD or not). This decision is communicated to you at the feedback session and formalised in a thorough, comprehensive report. At the time of feedback, we will discuss recommendations and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
